Thank You to all our Supporters and Volunteers who Make it Possible

PETALING JAYA: The Flying Singh's golden spirit has now earned him a Golden Hearts. Rishiwant Singh, affectionally known by the community as the "Flying Singh" was presented with a Golden Hearts award from the Star Media Group during a ceremony in Petaling Jaya Thursday.
He received the award for his humanitarian service and continuous commitment to helping those in need, regardless off their race, caste, creed or religion. Singh accepted the award on behalf of all of the volunteers who he says put in countless hours to made this work possible.
"I dedicate the Golden Hearts award which was presented to me by the Malaysian Transport Minister Dato Seri Liow Tiong Lai, to my full team in UNITED SIKHS and the Malaysia Food Bank, my family and friends especially to the donors, for without them we can do nothing. I pray we get to reach more people so we can serve more. A little bit helps a lot. Waheguru tera shukar hai (thank you Lord Almighty) for allowing me to do what I love," Rishiwant Singh added.
Out of 100 people nominated for the prestigious award, only 10 were presented with a Golden Hearts. Other award recipients included a girl who donated a liver to her teacher, and two fishermen who saved eight Air Force personnel from a plane that crashed into the sea.
Singh was honored for his long record of humanitarian service dating back to 2004. Among some of his career highlights are assisting with aid relief after the Aceh Tsunami in 2004, offering psychological help to the 2005 Sri Lanka Tsunami survivors, sending aid to the survivors of the 2008 Myanmar cyclone, building homes and a church after a typhoon hit the Philippines in 2013 and offering food aid after the 2015 Myanmar floods.
Singh also played a major part in leading and organizing the 2014 Good Will Walk, in which he and others traveled a grueling 750km for 34 days, in an effort to raise money for several noble causes in Malaysia. Throughout his career he has provided much needed assistance to refugees from around the world and has given speeches at both the United Nations and World Bank.
"To say we are proud would be an understatement. Rishiwant has shown long-standing empathy and commitment to improving quality of life for his community. He has consistently exhibited exemplary devotion and volunteerism and in doing so he has touched and encouraged all of us to live a better life. He is the ultimate humanitarian, we are elated to call him our brother," Hardayal Singh, Founder, Director of UNITED SIKHS said.
UNITED SIKHS can only continue doing this service with the support of their donors and volunteers. Together we can make a difference, please donate.
41-year-old Singh is the Humanitarian Aid Deputy Director for the UNITED SIKHS and the Director of the Malaysia Food Bank Organization.
