US Sikhs urged to fight turban ban in France

NEW JERSEY: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee (SGPC), India has called upon the Sikh community world over to unite in their fight against the French ban of wearing turban. France had passed a law in 2004 banning the wearing of turbans in schools.

New York, Dec 17 (PTI) Concerned over hate crimes against them, a global conference of Sikhs has decided to set up an international organisation to fight for their civil liberties, including the right to wear turban, besides creating awareness among authorities about the symbols of their religion.
