UNITED SIKHS Organises Sports Day at Campbell Bay

Today we organized the sports day at Campbell bay at the Govt Senior Secondary School. It went on very well. There was a gathering of the staff, teachers, the school principal and approximately 300 students participated in various races, volley ball and soccer. UNITED SIKHS gave prizes to the winners, the spirit of the children were uplifted and they were very happy. Bhai Esher Singh and I met the local sangat and the congress member from Maharastra Mr.Charan Singh Sabra and Vinash Pandey. We discussed with them our concerns and informed them about the situation and requested them to take on board the community's voice and help in finding solutions. They were helpful and promised to assist in every possible way. A separate list of community concerns will be sent by me. We have also sent the letter to (Tamil Nadu Governor ) Barnala ji, Lt. Gen of Andaman & Nicobar Island and Professor Ram Kapse. Regarding the building of a saw mill and the allotment of land to start the sawmill, UNITED SIKHS has promised the Governor & Lt Governor to obtain 100 blades for the mill. The plan for the community center was discussed as well. UNITED SIKHS has ordered 12 computers, which will be partially donated by the sangat and partially paid for by us. Judge Singh and I were talking with the computer professionals and they will be starting the class by 1st week of March. A temporary rented place to start the computer center is also being looked into until a permanent structure is made. This computer center for this Island will be installed by the UNITED SIKHS for informing and educating children and to open avenues of opportunity for them. I went to the relief camp and we are making arrangements for the Gurdawara Sahib. Some of our members will be leaving, so further volunteers from India will be arranged to continue the work started by us. Rest all is fine over here
