Washington, DC: UNITED SIKHS invites community members and leaders to join hands and gather on Capitol Hill this summer to discuss critical issues the Sikh community is encountering at the 2011 Sikh Summit. UNITED SIKHS is coordinating meetings with Members of Congress and government agencies to address concerns that most affect Sikhs in the United States. Make sure our voices are heard!
- When: Monday, May 2 – Friday, May 6, 2011
- Where: Washington, DC
- Who: Members of Congress and government agencies meet with Sikh community leaders and members
- What: Hate Crimes, Racial and Religious Profiling, Employment Discrimination, Counting of Sikhs in Census, Bullying in Schools, Right to wear Kakaars and Screening of Turbans at Airports.
