| Now, more than ever, we have to fight for the civil and human rights of our people. |
| Since the November election, safety has become an increasing concern for many of our families. Our safety and religious preferences are basic human rights that we should not have to keep fighting for. However as the latest statistics show, hate crimes appear to be on the rise in America and many parts of the world. That is why the UNITED SIKHS continues it’s mission. |
| We are fighting to protect our fellow citizens. |
| While we wait to see what the Trump administration brings, we must remember that everyday injustices and inequities we read and hear about affect real people and impact real lives; we cannot afford to be complacent. The coming years will be defining moments, and we’re looking to you, our donors, for stronger support. |

| We acknowledge and honor the people who have faced oppression and bigotry in our communities across the world. Tragically, in 2016 we lost some of our strongest advocates of human rIghts. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Suran Singh and all others who lost their lives while protecting our freedoms. |
