Celebrating Women Who Serve Humanity
New York, N.Y. | March 2, 2026
This Women’s History Month, UNITED SIKHS proudly honors the women whose vision, courage, and service form the backbone of our mission. From boardrooms to disaster zones, from advocacy halls to community kitchens, women of UNITED SIKHS embody the spirit of resilience and compassion. Their leadership is not about recognition—it is about service. Their work is not about visibility—it is about impact.
Women Shaping a Sustainable Future
This year, the United Nations celebrates Women’s Month with the theme “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future”. This calls on the world to recognize women as architects of sustainability in environmental stewardship, economic justice, community resilience, and intergenerational equity. UNITED SIKHS women live this truth daily. Whether advancing civil rights, defending religious freedom, or delivering humanitarian aid, they are designing blueprints for lasting transformation.
Women Leaders Driving the Mission
At UNITED SIKHS, women leaders drive the mission forward with precision, vision, and courage.
Wanda Sanchez Day, Chief Legal Officer, ensures that justice and equity remain central to every advocacy effort, grounding the organization’s work in fairness and accountability. With her expertise in law and governance, she crafts strategies that protect vulnerable communities and guides UNITED SIKHS through complex legal landscapes while championing fairness and transparency at every level.
Bhupinder Kaur, Director of Operations, orchestrates the organization’s response to pressing issues, ensuring that humanitarian interventions are timely, effective, and impactful. Her ability to coordinate diverse teams and resources reflects both her strategic vision and deep compassion for those served, making sure that every initiative not only meets immediate needs but also strengthens the foundations for long-term resilience.
As Director of Media and Public Relations, Gurleen Kaur makes certain that the public remains informed of UNITED SIKHS’ programs, campaigns, and vital initiatives. She maintains a strong connection to the ground, amplifying the voices of communities and ensuring transparency in all communications.
Jagjit Kaur, Senior Manager, strengthens organizational systems to sustain long-term impact, building structures that allow UNITED SIKHS to grow and adapt to evolving challenges.
In the United Kingdom, Narpinder Mann BEM, Director of United
Humanitarian Sikh Aid, is a strong force that aids in managing vital services that continues to provide guidance on complex legal, immigration, and welfare issues. Her compassionate approach and tireless dedication have earned her deep respect from both local and national institutions, making her a trusted partner in mobilizing international solidarity during times of crisis.
Cristina Jimenez, Human Rights and International Engagement Lead, bridges UNITED SIKHS with communities through strategic collaboration with international stakeholders while serving as the organization’s human rights lens. She ensures that breaches of fundamental freedoms are firmly confronted, while actively engaged with global leaders to pursue systemic change.
Mahak Garg, Finance Manager, safeguards the organization’s financial integrity and sustainability. With meticulous oversight and strategic planning, she ensures that resources are managed responsibly, enabling UNITED SIKHS to expand its humanitarian reach while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Finally, Jaspal Kaur, Executive Advocacy Activist, champions grassroots empowerment. She works closely with communities to amplify their voices and mobilize collective action. Her advocacy is both practical and visionary, and reminds us that sustainable futures are built from the ground up.

Our Volunteers – The Quiet Force of Change
Beyond leadership, our volunteers who are mothers, daughters, students, and professionals show up quietly, consistently, courageously. They distribute food in disaster zones, provide medical care in underserved communities, and stand with those facing discrimination. Their service is the heartbeat of UNITED SIKHS. They remind us that sustainability is not only about policies and programs, it is about people, relationships, and the courage to act.

Building Sustainable Communities
Every initiative led by UNITED SIKHS women reflects the Mission and the UN’s call for sustainability:
- Economic Justice: UNITED SIKHS women are at the forefront of advocating for truckers’ rights and workplace equity, ensuring that workers are treated with dignity and fairness. They also confront employment discrimination rooted in violations of religious freedoms, defending the right of individuals to work without compromising their faith. By challenging systemic barriers, they advance a vision of workplaces that are inclusive, equitable, and respectful of diversity.
- Community Resilience: In times of crisis and humanitarian emergencies, UNITED SIKHS mobilize aid with a sense of urgency. They coordinate relief efforts, distribute essential supplies, and provide medical as well as emotional support to those most affected. Their ability to respond effectively ensures that communities not only survive disasters but emerge stronger and more connected.
- Intergenerational Equity: Recognizing that sustainability must extend across generations, UNITED SIKHS invest in youth education and empowerment. Through Know Your Rights campaigns and training, they equip young people with the tools to defend freedoms, participate in civic life, and carry forward the mission of justice and service.
- Global Solidarity: UNITED SIKHS women cultivate international partnership with agencies and institutions to uphold UN standards. Their work bridges local struggles with global advocacy by engaging with global leaders to amplify community voices and reinforce the principle that sustainable futures depend on collective responsibility across borders.
A Call to Celebrate and Continue
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we honor the women of UNITED SIKHS who rise not for recognition, but for service. Their leadership is proof that when women lead, communities thrive. Their courage is a reminder that sustainability is not a distant goal but a daily practice. Their example is an invitation, to rise, to serve, and to shape the future where justice and humanity prevail.
