Critical Support to Afghan-Sikh Family in Need
Ontario, December 6 – Our team in Canada collaborated with Sai Dham Food Bank to deliver essential relief to an Afghan-Sikh family in need.
Recognizing the pressing circumstances faced by the family, UNITED SIKHS Canada Director of Operations and Development Gurbir Singh, along with our member Harinder Singh took the initiative to personally deliver blankets and essential food items. The generous support from Sai Dham Food Bank has been instrumental in ensuring that the family, consisting of six members, receives enough groceries to sustain them for approximately two months.
The coordinated effort provided a lifeline to the family, offering them the necessary resources during a challenging time, underscoring the importance of community partnerships in addressing the immediate needs of vulnerable populations.
The relief package includes enough food to sustain the family for approximately eight weeks. This initiative not only addresses the immediate needs of the family but also exemplifies the organization’s dedication to humanitarian service.
The assistance offers crucial support to the family as they navigate their current challenges. “Our aim is to provide a helping hand to this family until they can stabilize their situation. UNITED SIKHS is committed to standing in solidarity with those facing adversity, and we believe in the power of collective support,” remarked Gurbir Singh.
Expressing gratitude for Sai Dham Food Bank’s support, he stated, “We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sai Dham Food Bank for their support in providing enough groceries to last about two months for this Afghan-Sikh family. It’s through such collaborations that we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need.”
