Toronto, Canada: UNITED SIKHS would like to cordially invite you to 2nd Global Sikh Civil Rights Conference: Preserving Our Past and Investing in Our Future to be held in Toronto, Canada from December 18, 2009 to December 20, 2009.
Join eminent human rights lawyers, politicians, judges, activists, multifaith representatives, Sikh organizations and community leaders, and participants from all over the world to actively engage in dialogue about issues that affect the Sikh nation. The conference is free and open to members of the community.
As to some of the key guests and highlights of the event, the President of the SGPC is expected to attend, Barbara Hall, the Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission and Almas Jiwani, Director of UNIFEM Canada will be speaking, and we will also have a performance by Rabbi Shergill who has generously donated a concert for the event.
Topics under discussion for the 2nd Global Sikh Civil Rights Conference will include Sikh Leadership, Right to Kakaars, racial profiling, Right to Turban, and women’s rights.
