- Punjab (India): $30 per month provides sustenance for families of “suicide farmers” so children don’t drop out of school due to hardship
- Pakistan: $100 provides a emergency non food item kit for a family for a month. $100 provides a emergency food kit for a family for a month.
- In Haiti: $100 per month sponsors the education of 12 children.
Some of the key achievements and projects are:
- Haiti Earthquake Relief: The Haiti relief effort by UNITED SIKHS has been a monumental success and recognized by President Barack Obama. UNITED SIKHS has already provided over 344,000 hot meals in 3 months and distributed over 20 tons of rice to 15 communities. Over $50,000 in medical supplies have also been utilized for the medical rehabilitation of the survivors. The full yearly salary of 9 middle school teachers has also been paid, amounting to $15,000. This helps provide education to 150 students. Future projects include building a canteen for orphans, a water treatment plant to provide drinking water to over 2000 residents and continued sustenance to educators.
- Other projects include – providing relief to victims of the Japan Tsunami, assistance for the populations devastated by the Kenyan Famine, pensions for farmer suicide and flood effected families in Punjab, etc.
- Medical Camps: health, hygiene and medical supplies distributed in and around Panja Sahib (Pakistan), Kenya and Haiti.
