Covid-19 cases have surged all around the world especially in the States. More than 10,637,400 people have been affected by the Coronavirus in the United States and 242,800 have died due to the pandemic. These rising case numbers embody records in the number of hospitalizations, creating havoc in the current healthcare system. There is increasing pressure on hospitals to provide testing and better treatment facilities to the masses.
To support our healthcare system and to make sure that everyone has access to Covid-19 testing, UNITED SIKHS has initiated a free COVID-19 testing program this weekend in Queens, NY.

  • Saturday, Nov. 14th, 10am–3pm, La Jordana Food Pantry, 133-36 Roosevelt Avenue, Flushing NY, 11354
  • Sunday, Nov. 15th, 10am–3pm, The Sikh Center of New York Inc., 222-28 95th Ave, Queens Village, NY 11429

NYCHH trained technicians provide COVID-19 self-swab tests and instruction to New Yorkers, as part of the NYC Test & Trace Corps. Since the immigrant population has a language barrier, the UNITED SIKHS team will be present to help with translating the instructions. We will also provide help in creating email accounts as that is one of the requirements to get tested. The program runs in collaboration with the NYC Health + Hospitals, and other agencies.
There is no registration required, participants can walk directly into a Covid-19 testing site. More than 100 nasal-swab tests are available on a daily basis at individual sites. Test reports will be available in 48 hours and will be shared via email.
All across America, there are more than 10.6 million individuals affected by this pandemic. UNITED SIKHS’ target is to provide testing facilities near the homes and workplaces of disadvantaged populations, ensuring that interfaith and immigrant communities—often underserved and marginalized—have access to reliable coronavirus testing, tracing and virus education.
Individuals who test positive are able to take advantage of various services provided by the city. Depending on the individual needs of patients, we will provide groceries or cooked meals. If they need insurance, UNITED SIKHS can help patients secure insurance from the NYC Marketplace via their Assister Navigator program, which helps New Yorkers select health insurance plans. Patients can enroll in the NYC Care health program regardless of immigration status.
United Sikhs wants to ensure that each and every New Yorker is tested for Covid and gets the suitable health benefits.
