United Sikhs raise funds for family of fallen sikh man

HAMILTON, OH-In response to the recent tragic shooting of Jaspreet Singh, UNITED SIKHS today launched a fundraising campaign to provide his family with financial support. A devoted father of four, Jaspreet is being remembered by the community for his beaming smile, selfless character and giving nature. Locally, he assisted UNITED SIKHS disaster relief teams by delivering humanitarian aid in the wake of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria last year.

“The global Sikh community is deeply saddened by this crime,” said Manvinder Singh, Legal Director of UNITED SIKHS International Civil and Human Rights Advocacy (ICHRA) Programs. “Our hearts go out to his family in their time of need. As a selfless volunteer, Jaspreet helped so many receive critical aid in their time of need. Now, we urge the public to assist his family during this time.”

According to local news reports, Jaspreet was fatally shot at close range in his torso on May 12, as he sat in his car on 502 East Ave. UNITED SIKHS has confirmed with officials at the Hamilton Police Dept. that no evidence of bias in this tragic incident has been found during the criminal investigation.
