Gear up for the Midterms 2022

New York, September 20

Midterm Election Day is only a few weeks from now, on November 8, it is crucial that all eligible Sikh community members have their voter registration done.

It takes only a couple of minutes to register to vote. If you haven’t registered, check out this link and register right now. It is vital that more Sikhs turn out to vote emphatically on the Election Day, to make sure that the growing Sikh community gets appropriate representation in the government.

Many states also start voting in advance of the Election Day, as early as September and October. We urge you to check the early voting dates in your state and vote. In some states, 16-17-year-olds can also pre-register to vote. Please check your state’s election rules, to get your kids to register as voters.

Set up Phone Banking to receive reminders about the upcoming elections and answer queries about polling locations.

“In a democracy, it is essential that all communities are represented proportionally in the government. Sikhs have been part of American social fabric for more than a hundred years. Their growing numbers must also have an apt representation in the government. This is more significant than ever, in the wake of the rise in racial attacks against the community in recent times,” said Gurpreet Singh, CEO, UNITED SIKHS.

If you have any questions or need assistance to VOTE, contact UNITED SIKHS at law-usa@unitedsikhs.org.
