New York: Covid-19 Test and Trace Outreach
Posted in Press ReleaseSikh AID

UNITED SIKHS will be hosting three-Test and Tracing sites on Monday, February 22, Tuesday, February 23, and Thursday, February 25.  Between the hours of 9:30 am and 4 pm, in partnership with NYC Test and Trace Corps, UNITED SIKHS will be providing free self-swab, nasal testing kits.  Please see the details below for locations and dates. Thus far, we have conducted 15 testing events in various parts of Queens and Bronx.  Monday’s event will be in Brooklyn.
Testing is free, safe, and confidential. You do not need an appointment, but in the case of inclement weather, we recommend you call (516) 765-1319 to ensure there hasn’t been a weather-based cancellation.  All New Yorkers can get Covid-19 tests free of charge regardless of immigration status and whether or not they have symptoms.  Results are usually available within 48 hours.
UNITED SIKHS also serves the community by helping individuals apply for affordable health care, regardless of immigration status.  Working with the Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC), UNITED SIKHS is able to assist individuals with their applications for low-cost or free medical care through the NYC Care program.  UNITED SIKHS volunteers translate instructions and guidelines and help overcome other obstacles.  Volunteers are also knowledgeable about the variety of resources available to anyone with Covid-19 and direct people to these services. Information about applying for NYC Care will be available during the Test and Tracing events listed above.
Please help NYC heal.  Get tested for yourself and your community.
