Nourishing the Community through ‘Feed The Hungry’
London, Ontario, August 19
In a resolute effort to combat food insecurity and address the pressing issue of hunger within the local community, our team at ‘Feed The Hungry’ event successfully distributed much-needed provisions to individuals in need. The event, which took place in collaboration with Ark Aid Mission, brought together dedicated volunteers and donors to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those facing food challenges.
Essential food items including rice, kidney beans, bananas, chips, rice crispies and juice boxes were distributed to individuals and families in need during the event. The initiative aimed not only to provide physical sustenance but also to foster a sense of solidarity and support within the community.
“We believe that no one should have to worry about where their next meal will come from,” said Gurbir Singh, Director of Operations at UNITED SIKHS Canada. “We are committed for a positive impact on the lives of those who are vulnerable and food insecure.”
The event was made possible by the dedication of numerous volunteers who selflessly contributed their time and effort — Nihal Singh, Yuvi Singh, Divnoor Kaur, Gurneet Kaur, Guzel, Scott, and Lily displayed unwavering commitment to the cause. The heartfelt contributions of cooks Saksha, Pritpal Singh, and Tanmeet Kaur were also instrumental in ensuring the success of the event.
Jenica Minkarious, the volunteer coordinator played a pivotal role in coordinating efforts and ensuring the smooth execution of the ‘London Feed The Hungry’ event.
For the event, we worked in conjunction with Ark Aid Mission, a local organization with a shared vision of addressing food insecurity and supporting vulnerable populations.
We are committed to make a lasting impact on the lives of the underprivileged and marginalized communities.
