With a heavy heart, UNITED SIKHS announces the passing of a brother and a leader Malkiat Singh, who left behind a legacy of dedication, compassion, and exceptional service for humanity.

Malkiat was more than just a colleague, he was a pillar of strength and an inspiration to all who had the privilege of working with him. Throughout his tenure at UNITED SIKHS, Malkiat played a pivotal role in driving our mission forward, overseeing numerous projects and initiatives that have positively impacted countless lives.

During his time shared with us, Malkiat’s most notable accomplishment was his service as the Senior Manager of Operations and Development for the West Coast spearheading Project Vaapsi, a transformative program that guided youth away from addiction and towards healthier, purpose-driven lives. He was deeply perturbed with

how the youth were taking towards the path of addiction and was working with the local communities, teams, and groups to empower them, and help them through the Vaapsi Program, rebuild their lives.

Malkiat dedicated his time to ensure the continuance and strengthening of Project Vaapsi. He foresaw expanding the program across major cities where the epidemic of addiction was on the rise.

Alongside these achievements, Malkiat’s targeted efforts to assist resettle Ukrainian families in Canada and his participation in the “Project Braveheart” led him to travel across Poland and the border area camps of UNITED SIKHS in Ukraine.

His unwavering commitment to humanitarian causes, coupled with his deep empathy and leadership, made him an invaluable member of our team. Under his guidance, our operations on the West Coast flourished, bringing much-needed support and development to disadvantaged communities.

Malkiat’s dedication to UNITED SIKHS mission of Humanitarian Aid and Advocacy was unparalleled. He worked tirelessly to ensure that our initiatives were executed with excellence. His compassion springs from the genuine desire of lending a helping hand, as he viewed challenges from his own experiences making each of his efforts a personal journey.

We extend our deepest condolences to Malkiat Singh’s family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the positive changes he helped bring about.

UNITED SIKHS, his colleagues, friends, and community members will continue to honor and remember Malkiat Singh’s extraordinary life and contributions, and strive towards continuing the on-going Project Vaapsi.
