UNITED SIKHS Collaborates with Peel Regional Police to Strengthen South Asian Community Engagement
In a significant effort to address the challenges faced by the South Asian community and enhance support programs, UNITED SIKHS recently held a crucial meeting with Peel Regional Police as part of their South Asian Community Engagement (SACE) initiative. UNITED SIKHS Canada team and the Peel Regional Police discussed pertinent issues and strategized effective solutions, to address the community concerns.
Directors Sukhwinder Singh, Ranbir Singh and Gurbir Singh, along with Media Coordinator Manjinder Singh and volunteer Simran Kaur, engaged in insightful discussions with Sgt. Manjit Basran and PC Kalsi from Peel Regional Police. The meeting aimed to identify challenges and limitations faced by the South Asian community and explored collaborative efforts to overcome these hurdles.
The team discussed various obstacles encountered by the South Asian community, ranging from cultural barriers to social and economic challenges. UNITED SIKHS and Peel Regional Police explored innovative ways to coordinate programs that offer meaningful support to community members. The focus was on creating strategies that are culturally sensitive and inclusive, ensuring that the diverse needs of the South Asian community are met effectively.
