Dear Supporter

UNITED SIKHS collaborated with various non-profits and organizations in response to an invitation to participate in the Get It Together Campaign. This initiative aimed to facilitate partnerships among non-profits and organizations, enabling a joint effort to combat mental health issues and drug addiction challenges.

During a recent event organized in Brampton as part of this campaign, Gurbir Singh, Director of Operations at UNITED SIKHS Canada, emphasized the organization’s UMEED Helpline. Singh underscored the significance of this helpline, which offers round-the-clock anonymous counseling and mental health support for individuals dealing with depression, domestic violence, substance abuse, and a variety of other challenges. The helpline also provides assistance in legal matters, catering to a diverse range of needs for those in distress.

An essential aspect of the UMEED Helpline is its specialized support for international students, who often confront distinct mental health and emotional well-being challenges. UNITED SIKHS is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for these students, guiding them through their mental distress and helping them emerge stronger.

Gurbir Singh expressed the organization’s steadfast commitment to raising mental health awareness and offering crucial assistance to those in need. “Our UMEED Helpline acts as a vital resource for individuals dealing with various issues, ensuring they receive the necessary counseling and guidance,” stated Singh.

With a rich history of humanitarian efforts, UNITED SIKHS reaffirmed its dedication to community well-being through its involvement in the ‘Get It There Together’ campaign. By actively participating in such initiatives, UNITED SIKHS continues to make a positive impact on society, fostering a sense of belonging and providing support for individuals dealing with mental health and addiction challenges.
