The Kashmir floods have continued to cause scenes of destruction and death, while leaving many families without food, water and shelter. Lives have been shattered and the region is still reeling from one of the worst floods in 60 years.

As soon as news broke of the floods broke, the UNITED SIKHS humanitarian aid team launched its Kashmir Relief programme. In recent days, the UNITED SIKHS team, by boat, has travelled to some of the worst hit areas of Srinagar, Alochi Bagh, Jawahar Nagar, Raj Bagh, Gogji Bagh and Wazir Bagh. The team delivered food, water, blankets and medicine to families who were still trapped in their homes.

Your donations have helped nearly 30 families. They went door-to-door, roof-to-roof distributing, approximately delivering 200 blankets. UNITED SIKHS Kashmir Relief Team Leader, Amritpal Singh, stated: “we distributed blankets to needy people; we were giving out blankets very carefully. There was a woman who was without a blanket in the Gurdwara for three days. She was weeping and crying. Our distribution is to the neediest people so it’s taking some time”.

The UNITED SIKHS Humanitarian Aid team still needs your support to help these vulnerable communities. So far, your donations have enabled us to help these victims and save lives in Kashmir. Thank You.

Make a difference, make an impact, and make a change. Kashmir is counting on us.
