Some areas of Srinagar have been under water for weeks. With your support, the team reports being the first to reach Hanjiwara for relief kit distribution, which lies 30 km south of Srinagar, despite the supplies truck being stuck in mud for hours.
Volunteers went to the areas of Haft Chinar, Suthra Shahi, Shaheed Gunj Balgarden in Srinagar District and Hanjiwara Village in South Kashmir.
The locals assisted the relief team in identifying the neediest families. There were reports that the hard to reach areas were not approached by many and little assistance was made available to them.In the Suthra Shahi area, local resident Balbir Singh came forward in helping to identify the families which were the most destitute. Distribution was conducted at Amira Kadal Gurudwara .
We would like to thank our team members Komal JB Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Bikram Singh, Rajinder Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Hardeep Singh, Amarpeet Singh and Jagjit Singh. As well as all the local volunteers who put their needs ahead of the most affected families assisted in making this winter a warm one for many.
Many families are still without shelter and desperately need our assistance.
PLEASE MAKE A SMALL DONATION OF $25 TO KEEP CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WARM.
