AHAA and Sikh Summit 2024

Dear Supporters,

UNITED SIKHS is excited to announce that the 2024 AHAA and Sikh Summit is now open for applications!

ANNOUNCING SIKHS SUMMIT 2024

In a world where headlines grow ever grimmer – with hundreds displaced by war, natural disasters, and transnational repression of human rights by foreign authoritarian governments – there is a rising cohort of young people who are deeply concerned about real-world problems and their impact on the most vulnerable around the globe.

It is for these passionate individuals that the Advocacy & Humanitarian Aid Academy (AHAA) exists, offering a knowledge odyssey into the realm of international humanitarian aid work and civil rights advocacy!

Scheduled for a week in July 2024, this five-day event will be a hybrid experience, taking place via Zoom as well as in person in Washington DC.
Since its inception in 2014, AHAA has been a beacon for those dedicated to law, policy, civil rights advocacy, healthcare, education, international humanitarian aid work in disaster and conflict zones, and social justice causes. The rigorous training program equips participants with the skills, resources, and knowledge needed to pursue careers in these areas, transforming their passion into a lasting commitment.

Comprising lectures, discussions, workshops, interactive panels, and skill-building exercises based on real-world scenarios, AHAA provides selected students with a unique opportunity to engage with acclaimed civil rights lawyers, advocates, federal government agency officials, representatives of reputable civil rights organizations, professors, UNITED SIKHS leadership, and members of the U.S. Congress.
Participants will also gain insights into the major global issues faced by Sikhs and learn strategies to empower the community.
