Brampton, November 23, 2023
In a proactive effort to address the pressing issue of addiction within the community, members of UNITED SIKHS connected with community members and engaged with Punjabi Community Health Services (PCHS) to explore the possibility of implementing a Naloxone training session. The initiative took place during the “Overcoming Addictions, Rebuilding Lives Together” event as part of Addiction Awareness Week.
UNITED SIKHS team actively participated in discussions with community members, aiming to raise awareness about addiction and explore preventative measures. The event provided a platform to discuss the significance of Naloxone training as a life-saving intervention in the face of the opioid crisis.
Our team emphasized on the need for community-driven initiatives to address addiction-related challenges. Naloxone, a medication designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose, has proven to be a critical tool in saving lives during emergencies.
