UNITED SIKHS Thanks Global Community for Life-Saving Response to Punjab Floods
UNITED SIKHS, extends heartfelt gratitude to its donors, volunteers, and partners for their extraordinary support during the catastrophic floods that struck Punjab’s border district of Firozpur. Guided by selfless service, our collective response brought hope and relief to thousands of families devastated by disaster.
Immediate Relief and Long-Term Recovery
When floodwaters engulfed 11 villages, destroying homes, crops, livestock, and schools, UNITED SIKHS mobilized quickly. Together, we provided food, clean water, medical aid, and shelter to over 600,000 affected individuals. We officially adopted all 11 villages for sustained recovery and rehabilitation, guided by local leaders and our teams on the ground, to ensure that the families impacted are not left behind.

Impact at a Glance
- * 779+ families supported (~3,895 individuals)
- * 2,500+ people relocated to safer areas
- * 7,500+ patients treated through medical camps
- * 150+ volunteers mobilized on the ground
- * 15+ doctors deployed, including child and neurological specialists
- * 400 quintals of seeds and fodder distributed
- * 65,000 liters of diesel provided to power tractors and machinery for agricultural recovery
- * 5,415 acres rehabilitated for agriculture
- * 4 rescue boats reaching isolated communities
At the heart of every relief effort is the conviction that humanity must stand together.

Reflecting on this mission and the collective strength that made recovery possible, Director Sukhwinder Singh shared:

Our volunteers embodied the ethos of service and solidarity, working tirelessly to reach the most vulnerable families. From preparing countless hot meals (Langar), to operating rescue boats, to rebuilding homes and schools, their dedication ensured that relief was not only immediate but also transformative. Doctors, farmers, engineers, and community leaders joined forces, proving that compassion is the strongest force in times of crisis.

Every act of generosity, whether financial support, awareness-raising, or logistical aid helped rebuild lives and restore dignity. Your contributions enabled us to distribute seeds and tools, clear debris from farmlands, strengthen riverbanks, and provide medical care to thousands. Together, we turned compassion into action.

Three-Phase Response Framework
To ensure that relief was not only immediate but also sustainable, UNITED SIKHS implemented a structured three‑phase response framework designed to guide communities from crisis to recovery.
- * Phase 1: Immediate Relief – Food, water, medicines, rescue boats, relocation of families
- * Phase 2: Restoring Livelihoods – Agricultural rehabilitation, seeds, fertilizers, tractor
- * Phase 3: Long-Term Rehabilitation – Rebuilding homes and schools, mental health support, farming training with Punjab Agricultural University, riverbank strengthening. Our work still continues, we are still building and repairing damaged houses. We are installing Studs in Satluj river near village Basti Ram Lal District Firozpur.

A Message of Gratitude
We express our sincere appreciation to Sikh organizations, interfaith groups, sports clubs, Gurdwara committees, and businesses whose solidarity made this response possible.
We thank our global community for showing that humanity knows no boundaries. Your kindness reflects the compassion that guides all our work and reminds us that service is strongest when carried out together.
