You Are Not Alone”: UNITED SIKHS Mobilizes Ground Relief and Solidarity for Nepal’s Disaster Victims
UNITED SIKHS, a United Nations-affiliated international humanitarian aid and advocacy organization, continues its critical on-the-ground disaster relief response across flood-impacted regions in Nepal. Grounded in its core principle to “Recognize the Human Race as One”, the organization’s dedicated volunteers are actively providing emergency supplies, operational support, and emotional comfort to vulnerable families and children.
At Shree Sulakshana Secondary School near Trishuli, UNITED SIKHS volunteers engaged directly with 52 flood‑affected families – more than 120 people, including children and adults – who are currently taking shelter after their homes were destroyed by the devastating floods. In line with our commitment to seva (selfless service) volunteers distributed clothing along with raw food materials and essential supplies for cooking meals.
On-the-Ground Action & Humanitarian Impact
UNITED SIKHS volunteers are directly engaging with local communities, disaster survivors, and international partners to ensure rapid relief delivery:
- ● Emergency Relief Distribution : Volunteers prepare and distribute hot meals and deliver essential relief packages containing food rations, clean drinking water, gas stoves, sanitary pads, and daily necessities directly to displaced families.
- ● Disaster Response & Assessment: Working alongside local authorities, security forces, and United Nations representatives, volunteers conduct ground surveys and assist in rescue and recovery efforts across damaged infrastructure and debris-covered terrain.
- ● Community Engagement & Emotional Support : Beyond physical supplies, volunteers spend time with affected children and families, comforting them, distributing toys, providing temporary shelter support, and standing in solidarity with local residents.
- ● Vigil & Solidarity: In remembrance of lives lost, UNITED SIKHS volunteers join local Nepalese communities in candlelit vigils and shared prayers, reinforcing the message that no community stands alone during a crisis.
